Bernadette is a Coordinator, Gender and Development Studies (GDS) School of Environment, Resources and Technology, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. She has finished her PhD in in Development Studies, Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.

She has written many publications about Gender and Natural Resources.
